Anna Lee is a multimedia journalist who spent more than a decade covering education, city government, crime and breaking news at The Greenville News — as well as a brief stint as a weekly book columnist — before joining Community Journals in January 2020. While at The News, she was part of the reporting team behind TAKEN, a first-of-its-kind statewide examination of civil forfeiture in South Carolina, for which she received a 2019 EPPY Award for Best Community Service. The series was also named a finalist for the 2020 John Jay Excellence in Criminal Justice Reporting Award.
A South Carolina native, Anna is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, where she double majored in English and Chinese Studies. When she’s not writing, Anna enjoys thrifting, disc golf, waterfall hikes and reading all the books. She and her husband live in Travelers Rest with their dog, Chewbacca, and two cats, Yuuki and Malcom.
