Michael Allen
SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
“Creating advertisements for our clients’ businesses to help in their success is very gratifying. Community Journals is an amazing workplace and the people here are outstanding. I am very happy to be here with this team.”
With previous design experience for the Orlando Sentinel and The Greenville News, Senior Graphic Designer Michael Allen’s third newspaper publishing gig has proved to be a charm: He has been with Community Journals for 13 years.
An Asheville native, Michael moved to Orlando post-graduation, where he spent many years and began his family of four with his wife (also a graphic designer). The outdoorsman says, “I longed to be closer to my hometown. I wanted to find a good community in or near the North Carolina mountains for my family. When I first arrived in Greenville for a job interview, I was very impressed with the downtown area. Once moved I here I realized what a wonderful and growing place the Upstate is.”
The father of son Devin and daughter McKenna, Michael believes the Upstate is also a great place for families, and his ever-expanding brood could soon take the area over! “I have a big family,” he says. “I am the youngest of three. I have two sisters, two nephews, four nieces, eleven great nephews, two great nieces, and one great-great nephew.”
